Friends of Grand Union Canal started as a Facebook group during the first lockdown in August 2020 and grew rapidly. We have brought together thousands of people across London who value the canal and want to make it a better space for all.

At our heart is the desire to make this unique feature in the area even better for the enjoyment of local people, and wildlife. We have spent thousands of volunteer hours on the canal towpath, trying to bring the Grand Union back to its former glory. This has involved regular litter picks, outreach work with the community, engagement with local Councils from Hillingdon, to Ealing, to Brent. However, this work all comes at a cost.
