Our Code of Conduct


  • Members will at all times only act in the interests of the aims of the group.


  • Members will signal courtesy, respect and professionalism in their exchanges with each other, and with representatives of other organisations and services.


  • Members will welcome all and will not discriminate on any grounds based on protected characteristics.


  • Abusive behaviour, signalling bullying or harassment, on-line or physical, will not be tolerated and will lead to suspension of membership.


  • Members may not use the Friends of Grand Union Canal as a forum for single issue complaints.


  • Members agree to the monitoring of posts on social media for unacceptable content, which will be removed.


  • Members should not speak or write on behalf of the group without the prior agreement of an officer of the Management Committee.


  • Members will declare any potential conflict of interest in any issues being discussed and decisions made.
