We are primarily  a Facebook group with over 5500 members.   Launched in August  2020 in the midst of endless lock downs,  we still were able to run small  cleanups along the canal.  Our plan was to have local people look after the part of the canal closest to them, and it worked!    We now regularly  clean  the canal within the London Boroughs of Brent,  Ealing and Hillingdon.  Whilst there are still a few litter hot spots, it's been very encouraging to see casual littering reduce significantly. 

Everyone is welcome to come to our events, including children and dogs (suitably supervised).  We will supply bags for the rubbish and we will arrange for the collection of the full bags.  We have a limited amount of litter picking sticks that we can loan, please let us know if you'd like one when you register for an event. Please note, some areas will not be accessible to all, so please check before signing up to an event. 

We have worked hard to get agreements in place with local authorities,  pioneering  their acceptance to  take away the rubbish and litter we find along the canal.  This means that we can run concurrent events on different parts of the canal, without impacting on the CRT workload . We have named this initiative  Canals Without Borders
